Bienvenidos a la Clase de Español
General Information On How To Be Successful In Spanish!
1. BE PRESENT! Attendance at school is imperative. Since this is a language class, a lot of our practice and instruction is oral, which is difficult to make up. If you are not physically and mentally (paying attention) in the class, you aren't hearing the language being used or discussions about the culture.
2. Please check the PowerSchool program on a regular basis to follow along with your academic progress. Also, you should always check and see if the grades entered look accurate. Please don't hesitate to ask questions about your grades. All assignments are listed on the day they are assigned, not on the day they are due.
3. BE PREPARED! Unless otherwise stated, assignments are due the next class period. All assignments are expected to be done. Missing homework assignments will quickly bring grades down.
4. Academic Honesty - To be successful in this class, you have to be honest about doing your own work. It is very obvious to the teacher that you have not been doing your own work when you do well on homework assignments, but don't do well on quizzes and tests. Having academic honesty also comes in other forms such as NOT warning students in other sections about upcoming test answers, NOT using online translators and presenting it as your own work and NOT cheating on tests and quizzes. Your goal in this class is to do YOUR best work!
5. The grade expectation for my students is an A or a B. If students are below those grades, they are not understanding the material or not doing the work. I am here to help. Please seek extra help if you need it. El Club Desayuno is available on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. I am also available by appointment.
**Moving to the next level in Spanish - A grade of an A or B is highly recommended
